S² Arts Lab Privacy Policy
Overview
This Privacy Policy describes how S² Arts Lab (“we”, “us”, “our”), operated by Shasta Winn and Sharayah Rushing, collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you use our websites, mobile apps, web apps, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). The Services include community tools such as Allies & Artists, S² Pantry, S² Learn, InnerPath, VitalSync, Soundscapes, Pro-Se Legal, S² Research, Ninefold Studio, and other apps listed in the S² Apps catalog or Community Hub.
We build for real-world community — not engagement extraction. Platform AI is opt-in, bring-your-own-key (BYOK) is supported wherever possible, and we do not sell personal information.
Who we are
S² Arts Lab is a studio building cooperative community software. For privacy questions, data access requests, or deletion requests contact s2artslab@gmail.com.
Individual apps may publish app-specific privacy addenda on their own subdomain (for example vitalsync.s2artslab.com/privacy or psla.s2artslab.com/privacy) that supplement this policy. Where an addendum conflicts with this document on app-specific practices, the addendum controls for that app.
Information we collect
What we collect depends on which Service you use and which features you enable. Categories may include:
- Account information — name, email address, display name, authentication identifiers, and profile details you provide when creating an account or signing in (including via third-party identity providers where offered).
- User content — journal entries, messages, posts, event RSVPs, research notes, audio preferences, wellness reflections, legal workspace documents, creative assets, and other content you choose to store or publish through a Service.
- Community and operational data — gathering listings, facilitator profiles, pantry requests, governance records, cohort participation, and similar data needed to operate community features.
- Device and usage data — app version, device type, crash logs, performance diagnostics, and coarse usage events needed to keep Services reliable and secure.
- Payment and billing data — subscription status, transaction references, and billing contact details processed by our payment providers. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
- AI and API usage — when you enable AI features with your own API keys (BYOK) or optional hosted assistance, prompts and responses may be transmitted to the provider you choose. Hosted S² AI runs on infrastructure we operate and is disclosed per app.
- Third-party integrations — when you connect external accounts (for example TikTok OAuth for scheduling tools, Google Sign-In, or health data sources in wellness apps), we receive the tokens and profile fields authorized by the scopes you approve.
How we use information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services you request.
- Authenticate accounts, sync data across devices, and enforce your privacy and consent settings.
- Operate community features such as gatherings, mutual aid routing, learning cohorts, and research commons workflows.
- Process optional AI assistance, literature search, or creative tools only when you enable them.
- Send service-related notices (security alerts, account confirmations, scheduling confirmations).
- Detect abuse, protect security, and comply with applicable law.
- Generate anonymized or aggregated statistics that cannot reasonably identify you.
We do not use your private journal, message, or health content to train general-purpose models unless you explicitly opt in to a feature that says so. Research or training contributions require separate consent where offered in-app.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell personal information. We may share data only:
- With infrastructure providers that host the Services under confidentiality obligations (for example Cloudflare, payment processors, email delivery).
- With third-party services you connect or authorize (OAuth providers, AI API vendors when you supply keys or subscribe to hosted AI).
- With other participants when you publish, RSVP, or collaborate through community features you control.
- When required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, with notice where required.
Your choices and rights
- Review and change privacy, analytics, data-sharing, and AI-training toggles inside each app’s settings where available.
- Export or delete your data using in-app tools where provided.
- Revoke third-party OAuth access through the third party’s account settings.
- Request access, correction, or deletion by emailing s2artslab@gmail.com.
- Decline optional hosted AI and use BYOK or local models instead where supported.
Depending on your location you may have additional rights under GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or similar laws. We will honor verified requests within reasonable timeframes.
Retention and security
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, resolve disputes, and maintain security logs. Retention periods vary by app and may be configurable in settings (for example data retention days in research or wellness apps).
We use HTTPS, access controls, encryption in transit, and least-privilege practices. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please use strong passwords and protect your devices.
Children
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided data and we will delete it.
Health, legal, and sensitive uses
Some Services touch wellness, psychedelic facilitation context, genealogy, or legal self-help workflows. These apps are not medical devices, emergency services, or law firms. Do not rely on them for diagnosis, treatment, crisis response, or legal advice. See each app’s in-product disclaimers and the Terms of Service.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top will change when we do. Material changes may also be announced in-app or by email where appropriate. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
